The present through an anthropological lens

Situated readings of worlds in motion.

ANTHROPOCOASTER takes the twists and turns of global current affairs as its starting point—including when they surface in local or seemingly minor events—to understand how decisions, conflicts, infrastructures, norms, crises, and transformations take shape in everyday practices, relationships, and experiences.

It works in two directions at once. One puts specialist knowledge into circulation, along with the questions of those seeking to understand the present; the other shifts attention between dominant agendas and situated perspectives. Through this double movement, what seemed peripheral may come into view as central, while what seemed self-evident may call for a different reading.
